A seven day is being held at Kuzuppilly Panchayath of Cherai from 26-12-2011 to 1-1-2012 under the auspices of NSS Govt. Law College Unit No.22. All those who are interested may be present. All those who have given names for the camp should be present in the college on 26-12-2011 afternoon 12:00.

LL.B. 3 Year Course Admission on 19 & 20 December,2011

The admission of the alloted students to the Govt Law College Ernakulam will be conducted on 19th & 20th December,2011. Those who are alloted are requested to be present on the dates. Required document should be brought for verification. Hall ticket and certificates are mandatory. The timings are 9:30 am to 2:00 pm. Fees would have to be paid at the time of admission itself. Allotment Letter should also be brought.

NSS Quiz Preliminary Round Results

Notice

          The National Service Scheme extends its sincere thanks to one and all for the effective participation in the preliminary round of the quiz competition held on 21/7/2011. The NSS has decided to make a cut off mark as 50% for the entry to the next round. On the basis of the score obtained in the preliminary round of the quiz competition the first twenty one rank holders are eligible to compete in the semi final of the competition, which will be held on 27/07/2011, Wednesday, at 11.30 am in the Assembly Hall. All the first twenty one rank holders are requested to be present on 27/07/2011 without fail.

LLB MODEL ENTRANCE EXAMINATION 2011

A Model Entrance Examination is Scheduled to be conducted on 24th July 2011, Sunday at 10.00 am in the Govt. Law College Campus. It will be based on the pattern followed by the university in conducting the entrance examination. All the aspirants who wish to attend the 5 year course entrance exam(which is on 24th July 2011) and those who intend to write the 3 year course entrance exam can attend this model test.

കൊച്ചി: അഡ്വ. ടി.എസ്. വെങ്കിടേശ്വര അയ്യര്‍ സ്മാരക എവര്‍റോളിങ് ട്രോഫിയ്ക്കുവേണ്ടിയുള്ള 14-ാമത് അഖിലേന്ത്യാ മൂട്ട്‌കോര്‍ട്ട് മത്സരത്തില്‍ പൂണെ ഇന്ത്യന്‍ ലോ സൊസൈറ്റി (ഐഎല്‍എസ്) ലോ കോളേജ് ചാമ്പ്യന്മാരായി. കോഴിക്കോട് ഗവ. ലോ കോളേജിനാണ് രണ്ടാംസ്ഥാനം. എറണാകുളം ഗവണ്‍മെന്റ് ലോ കോളേജില്‍ മൂന്ന് ദിവസങ്ങളിലായി നടന്ന മത്സരത്തില്‍ വിവിധ സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നായി 21 നിയമകലാലയങ്ങളിലെ വിദ്യാര്‍ഥികളാണ് മാറ്റുരച്ചത്.

ബെസ്റ്റ് മെമ്മോറിയല്‍ പുരസ്‌കാരവും പുണെ ഐഎല്‍എസ് ലോകോളേജ് സ്വന്തമാക്കി. തിരുവനന്തപുരം ലോകോളേജ് സെക്കന്‍ഡ് ബെസ്റ്റ് മെമ്മോറിയല്‍ പുരസ്‌കാരത്തിന് തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ടു. നാഷണല്‍ യൂണിവേഴ്‌സിറ്റി ഓഫ് അഡ്വാന്‍സ്ഡ് ലീഗല്‍സ്റ്റഡീസിലെ (നുവാല്‍സ്) റാണി ചാക്കോ മികച്ച ഗവേഷകയ്ക്കുള്ള പുരസ്‌കാരത്തിന് അര്‍ഹയായി. ഞായറാഴ്ച നടന്ന ഫൈനല്‍ മത്സരത്തില്‍ ഹൈക്കോടതി ജഡ്ജിമാരായ ജസ്റ്റിസ് സുരേന്ദ്രമോഹന്‍, ജസ്റ്റിസ് സി.കെ.അബ്ദുള്‍ റഹിം, ജസ്റ്റിസ് സി.ടി. രവികുമാര്‍ എന്നിവരായിരുന്നു വിധി കര്‍ത്താക്കള്‍.

കൊച്ചി: രാജ്യങ്ങളുടെ ഭാവി നിയമം കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്യുന്നവരുടെ കൈകളിലാണെന്ന് ജസ്റ്റിസ് തോട്ടത്തില്‍ ബി. രാധാകൃഷ്ണന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. ലോക ചരിത്രത്തില്‍ നാളിതുവരെ നടന്ന മുന്നേറ്റങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് നേതൃത്വം നല്‍കിയവര്‍ നിയമത്തില്‍ അവഗാഹമുള്ളവരും പുതിയ ചിന്തകള്‍ക്ക് വഴിതെളിച്ചവരുമാണെന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം കൂട്ടിച്ചേര്‍ത്തു.

എറണാകുളം ഗവ. ലോ കോളേജില്‍ അഡ്വ. ടി.എസ്. വെങ്കിടേശ്വര അയ്യര്‍ എവര്‍ റോളിങ് ട്രോഫിക്ക് വേണ്ടി യുള്ള 14-ാമത് അഖിലേന്ത്യാ മൂട്ട് കോര്‍ട്ട് മത്സരങ്ങളുടെ ഉദ്ഘാടനം നിര്‍വഹിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹം.

നിയമാവബോധം താഴെത്തട്ടിലെ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം മുതല്‍ സൃഷ്ടിക്കപ്പെടേണ്ടതും വ്യക്തിയുടെ സ്വഭാവത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായിത്തീരേണ്ടതുമാണ്. ഭരണഘടനാ മൂല്യങ്ങളോടുള്ള പ്രതിപത്തി ഏതു മേഖലയിലായിരുന്നാലും നിയമ വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥികള്‍ മുറുകെ പിടിക്കണം. കോര്‍പ്പറേറ്റ് ലോകത്തും ഇത് പ്രായോഗികമാക്കാനാവുമെന്നും ജസ്റ്റിസ് പറഞ്ഞു.

Bar Council to notify new ethical norms for lawyers

The Bar Council of India will notify by this year-end new ethical guidelines for lawyers based on international principles and which are applicable to Indian conditions, Solicitor-General and chairman, Bar Council of India, Gopal Subramanium said here on Sunday.

Talking to journalists on the sidelines of 17 {+t} {+h} Commonwealth Law Conference here, Mr. Subramanium said the draft had already been published and would be circulated among various stakeholders. The new guidelines were simple, and drawn mostly from South African principles.

The BCI decided to update and make the guidelines more realistic as they were not revisited since 1962-63.

In his speech on ‘Meeting the challenges of emerging economies in keeping the rule of law,' Commonwealth Secretary-General Kamalesh Sharma said the rule of law was central to the Commonwealth values. Respect for and implementation of the rule of law had long been enshrined as a core value of the Commonwealth, and most recently in the Affirmation of Commonwealth Values and Principles, which was agreed by heads of government at their last summit .

He said the rule of law was not only prescriptive, rather it was a way of underwriting and promoting aspiration, the strength and democratic coherence of our societies and our shared task of economic and social development.
